Raiders Super Bowl Odds Skyrocket After Davante Adams Trade

A slew of trades and free-agent signings has led to the AFC West becoming the most competitive division in the NFL. The Las Vegas Raiders proved that they wanted to be in the mix on Thursday by acquiring All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers.
Trading for a player like Adams — arguably the best wideout in the NFL today — is bound to have a positive impact. That's why the Raiders' Super Bowl LVII odds have skyrocketed following the trade.
Raiders Super Bowl Odds
Before acquiring Adams, FanDuel Sportsbook gave the Raiders +5000 odds to win the Super Bowl next season. Since then, Las Vegas' odds have improved to +3800. Although those odds don't put them near the upper echelon of the NFL, it's still a significant jump.
The Raiders' had the 15th-worst scoring offense last season, so bringing in Adams was necessary to compete with the other AFC West offensive powerhouses. The 29-year-old wideout has 238 receptions, 2,927 yards and 29 touchdowns in his last 30 games, making it easy to see how he immediately improves the 'Black and Silver's' firepower.
The Raiders now have all the tools to boast one of the more lethal offenses in the league. In addition to Adams, QB Derek Carr also has WR Hunter Renfrow and TE Darren Waller at his disposal. In other words, there's no excuse for the offense to finish in the bottom half of the NFL in 2022.
Having said that, the Raiders are far from done making offseason moves. The latest rumors indicate that the team is expected to pursue another big-name free agent, with multiple sources pointing towards that player being Pro-Bowl CB Stephon Gilmore.
It'll be interesting to see what other moves the Raiders will make to improve their Super Bowl odds. Until that happens, the outlook is already brighter than last year thanks to Adams' presence alone.
