By Larry Rupp

The 2021 season is now in the rearview mirror and Las Vegas Raiders fans are turning their attention toward the upcoming NFL Draft. The Raiders sneaked into the playoffs with a 10-7 record and adding another talented player to the mix could be the spark they need to become a legitimate contender.
NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay recently released the second edition of his mock draft and it features Las Vegas selecting an offensive weapon with the No. 22 overall pick.

Raiders Mock Draft
McShay projects the Raiders to grab wide receiver Chris Olave out of Ohio State and the pairing makes a lot of sense. Olave is one of the best-route runners in this entire draft class and has the ball skills needed to start day one in the NFL. He also has the explosion to leave defenders in the dust.
Quarterback Derek Carr passed for over 4,800 yards this past season despite only having one wide receiver post more than 600 yards (Hunter Renfrow). Tight end Darren Waller has struggled to stay healthy and WR Zay Jones is set to enter free agency. LV clearly needs to improve Carr's supporting cast.
Overall, Olave logged 2,702 receiving yards on 175 receptions across four seasons as a Buckeye (38 games played). The most exciting aspect of his game may be his ability to get into the end zone, though. Olave scored in nine of OSU's 11 games in 2021 and tallied 35 total touchdowns in college.
This is the type of move that would allow the Raiders to keep up in an AFC West division that is full of high-powered offenses. We'll see if McShay's projection comes into fruition when the NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 28.
