The Las Vegas Raiders need to upgrade their cornerback group. That's not exactly a secret. In fact, Jon Gruden pretty much publicly recruited Richard Sherman this offseason. Some around the league even believed those comments qualified as tampering.
Well, it's not Sherman, but the Raiders did land a visit with another former Pro-Bowl cornerback: A.J. Bouye.

Bouye is, of course, not nearly as exciting of a signing as Sherman would be. But he'd provide depth to a team that sorely needs it. He struggled mightily in 2020, receiving a 55.6 overall grade from ProFootballFocus. He wasn't much better in 2019, either, posting a 58.4 grade from PFF.
But he was excellent in 2018 and a Pro Bowler in 2017, so perhaps a change of scenery could help revitalize his career.
Bouye will be ineligible to play in the season opener regardless of who he signs with due to a PED suspension, but he'd be a nice low-risk gamble for the Raiders to take.
