Aside from rebuilding the offensive line, the Kansas City Chiefs wanted to add a few more weapons for superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes this offseason. After the devastating Super Bowl loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Andy Reid and his squad have their eyes set on another championship in 2021.

Part of this process included drafting wide receiver Cornell Powell from the Clemson Tigers in the fifth-round. It may be a bit surprising, but Mahomes is already loving what he's seen from his new rookie wideout in Chiefs OTAs. The review was simply glowing.

Mahomes went on to describe Powell as a "beast," and lauded the incoming rookie for his ability to make "some big catches in some tough, contested spots." Powell enters the NFL as a 24-year-old rookie after five seasons at Clemson. He's no stranger to good quarterback play after teaming up with Trevor Lawrence for the past couple of years, and last year broke out in a big way.

Powell tallied 53 receptions for 882 yards last season, including 7 touchdowns and an average of 16.6 yards per reception. Clearly a home run threat, the Chiefs will hope Powell can take some heat off of Tyreek Hill in the passing attack.

Currently, the Chiefs are favored for another Super Bowl run. FanDuel Sportsbook gives the Chiefs an league-leading +500 odds to win the 2021 Super Bowl, according to the latest NFL odds.
