It's fair to say the Carolina Panthers still have question marks surrounding the quarterback position. Starter Sam Darnold has not proven he can lead the team to a winning season and the Panthers could opt to draft a signal-caller at No. 6 overall. After all, their week has been full of QB prospect visits.

Panthers NFL Draft

Kenny Pickett became the sixth QB to visit the Panthers this week when he toured the facilities on Wednesday. Other notable names include Malik Willis and Matt Corral. These visits could end up being crucial considering at least one big name will likely be available when Carolina is on the clock.

Every one of these players shined in college and has strengths of their own. For example, Pickett is renowned for his accuracy and Willis' dual-threat capabilities give him a ton of upside. The fact here is that there is no clear pick and the Panthers may not have made up their mind on their top target yet.

General manager Scott Fittterer stressed at the NFL Combine in March that these visits will give the team an opportunity to learn more about the player. The Panthers are also set to welcome a slew of offensive linemen to Bank of America Stadium next week in hopes of fixing their issues up front.

Keep in mind Carolina has not drafted a first-round QB since Cam Newton was taken No. 1 overall in 2011. If Darnold is not the answer, now may be the best time to strike, though. The Panthers have a few short weeks to make the decision before the 2022 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 28.
