Panthers Reveal Winner of Backup Quarterback Competition With Latest Cut

Sam Darnold is the unquestioned QB1 for the Carolina Panthers, but throughout training camp there was a battle to see who would be his backup.
On Tuesday the Panthers announced that P.J. Walker would be that guy after the team waived former West Virginia standout Will Grier.

Walker was a former XFL standout the Panthers brought in once the league halted operations. Both Grier and Walker lead the team in passing yards in one preseason game each for the Panthers, but clearly the team liked what they saw from Walker more.
It looks like the Panthers will only carry two QBs heading into the season, and if Walker never sees the field that will be a good thing for Carolina, because it will mean Darnold will be healthy and playing well.
