Packers Fans Will Love Latest ESPN NFL Power Rankings

The Green Bay Packers have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL ever since they were blown out back in Week 1. They currently sit atop the NFC North division and just 0.5 games back of the Arizona Cardinals for the No. 1 seed. It's no wonder they keep climbing in ESPN's power rankings.

Packers fans will love to see their squad check in at No. 1 in the latest edition of this list. They leapfrogged over the Cardinals for the top spot following an impressive home victory against the Los Angeles Rams. Green Bay continued to dominate on both sides of the ball in route to a 36-28 win.

Starting quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers is at the helm of one of the most efficient offenses in the NFL. The Packers own the second highest time of possession mark in the league (32:29) and control the clock by using their dangerous backfield duo of AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones.

The main story here is the defense, though. Green Bay has been shutting down opponents left and right all season long. In fact, the Packers rank amongst the top ten teams in the NFL on a per-game basis in points allowed (20.2), total yards allowed (321.7) and opponent yards per play (5.3).

Playing at Lambeau field has to be seen as an advantage as well. Green Bay joins the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the only two teams in the NFL to be undefeated at home this year. No matter how you look at it, everything is going right for the Packers as they aim to earn the franchise's fifth Super Bowl title.

Green Bay will look to keep the good times rolling when they come out of the bye week to host the Chicago Bears in Week 14.
