At 9-16 and with last-placed +10000 odds to win the World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook, the Baltimore Orioles obviously don't have their sights set on 2022 success. Any optimism in the organization is going to be focused on the future.

That conversation begins with catcher Adley Rutschman, the 2019 first-overall draft pick and top prospect in the organization. The latest update on Rutschman finally gives O's fans something to get excited about.

Rutschman has been nursing a triceps injury, but he made played in four High-A rehab games followed by three at the Double-A level. He slashed .440/.517/.640 with 2 RBI and 7 runs scored in that time, and it's clear that he's fully healthy.

This won't be Rutschman's first time playing Triple-A ball. He appeared in 43 games in 2021, slashing .312/.405/.490 while driving in 20 RBI and scoring 25 runs. That kind of success already had fans wondering about a big league call-up, and now that his medical hurdles appear to be cleared, that conversation begins again.

If Rutschman continues his high-level play, don't expect it to take many Triple-A starts before he's called up to Baltimore.
