The MLB's general managers will be busy over the next day or so now that the trade deadline is just over 24 hours away. The Atlanta Braves are one team to watch as they look to pull off a deal that'd help capitalize on their +1000 odds (No. 5) on FanDuel Sportsbook to become back-to-back World Series champions.

One area that the Braves would like to get more production from is left field. Though playing the left side of the outfield isn't his main position, one player that could help Atlanta in its championship quest is versatile Cincinnati Reds infielder/outfielder Brandon Drury.

Braves Trade Rumors

MLB insider Jon Morosi reported on Sunday that the Braves are one of the top teams interested in Drury's services. Adam Duvall has failed to produce as the starting left fielder and now that he's undergone season-ending wrist surgery, the need for Drury is increasingly evident.

Drury has been consistent at the plate during his first season with the Reds. He's the team leader in both home runs (20) and RBIs (59) while also owning a .275 batting average and .859 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Though he's not primarily a left fielder, Drury has played 561.1 innings over 64 starts at the position. His .991 fielding percentage is the best he has at any position where he's played at least 400 innings. Throw in the fact that he can play just about wherever manager Brian Snitker asks him and it's easy to see why he should be one of Atlanta's top priorities.

Drury can also fill in at second base for Ozzie Albies until the latter returns from his foot fracture. The Braves have plenty of prospects that they can use to pull off the deal, including names that are close to cracking the MLB, such as shortstop Braden Shewmake, right-handed starter Freddy Tarnok and outfielder Jesse Franklin.

Braves fans won't have to wait long to find out if they should order a Drury jersey. The trade deadline takes place on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. ET.
