Odell Beckham hasn't tallied even 1,100 yards or 7 touchdowns in a season since 2016, and fans and fantasy managers alike are starting to lose hope that he's still an elite wide receiver.
Odell Beckham ADP
Those worries have Beckham going off the board with an average draft position (ADP) of WR27 in 2021, according to FantasyPros.
That discount makes Beckham a serious steal in 2021 fantasy football drafts.
Odell Beckham Fantasy Football Value
It's not hard to be disappointed by the 12.4 PPR fantasy points per game Beckham averaged in 2021, but there's plenty of reason to be optimistic that he's in for a significantly better year ahead.
To start with, he didn't get the benefit of Baker Mayfield's late-season surge.
Baker threw for 285.5 yards per game with 11 touchdowns to 1 interception across his final six games of the season. It's not like this improvement came because Beckham was out either, as Baker threw for just 458 yards with 0 touchdowns in his first three Beckham-less games last year.
We also need to factor in that Beckham's per-game averages are misleading, since he made it through just 2 snaps of his Week 7 game before getting hurt. In healthy games he averaged 14.5 PPR fantasy points per game, which would put him at WR25 — right in line with where he's being drafted.
Putting up some of the worst numbers in his career while his QB was also under-performing, he managed top be a top-25 wide receiver, telling us that he's being drafted right around his fantasy floor this year.
That really minimizes the risk of targeting Beckham, while the potential that his efficiency bounces back if Mayfield continues to show improvement gives him legitimate top-12 upside at the position — something he hasn't proved to us since 2016.
Beckham checks in at WR24 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football PPR rankings.
