Whenever an NFL player scores a touchdown, it's usually seen as a good thing for his team. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb in Week 2. While a last-minute touchdown gave his team a 30-17 lead over the New York Jets, it also gave New York enough time to pull off the comeback win.

Browns insider Camryn Justice now reports that Chubb admits scoring that touchdown was a mistake. While he did say that his teammates "could have all done things different," the dynamic rusher also said that running the ball into the end zone with 1:55 left "cost us the game."

Cleveland Browns News

Whether or not Chubb is to be blamed for the blown lead, you must admire his accountability. He also acknowledges that he's "been in that situation before" and is willing to own up to his mistake. The important thing is proving that he learned his lesson the next time he's in that situation.

Chubb did all he could to help Cleveland win the game, racking up 113 yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns. Unfortunately, a lot of people wish he hadn't scored that third time.

At the end of the day, it's the defense's job to stop the opposition. The Jets aren't even close to being a contender, so there's no excuse for letting an aging Joe Flacco march down the field for two touchdowns in the final two minutes.

Regardless of who the blame falls on, the Browns need to be better. They have a chance to get back on track in Week 3 when they host the rival Pittsburgh Steelers for Thursday Night Football.

Steelers vs Browns Week 3 Odds

Fortunately, Cleveland's odds to bounce back in Week 3 look fairly promising. In addition to listing the Browns as 5.5-point favorites, FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds also have them favored at -215 odds on the moneyline. That's an implied win probability of 68.3%.
