Running back is often the highest-valued position in fantasy football, with drafts almost always beginning with a run on RB. However, locking down solid starting running backs is often easier said than done.
One factor that can often point to a potential breakout for an RB is strength of schedule (SOS), and according to fantasy expert Brad Evans, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers have the easiest SOS.
We knew the Ravens were already poised to have one of the most dangerous rushing attacks in the NFL, thanks to the combination of Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram, but this news could bump up their value.
The second-easiest schedule goes to James Conner and the Steelers. Conner broke out last season filling in for Le'Veon Bell, tallying 973 rushing yards and 12 TDs in just 13 games. After a full offseason of knowing he's the man, an easy projected schedule could help Conner improve on his RB6 finish from 2018.
The Seattle Seahawks, the only team that ran more than they passed last season, have the third-easiest schedule, which could increase Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny's value.
While you probably shouldn't base an entire decision purely off of a running backs' strength of schedule, its useful as a tiebreaker, and is something to keep in mind come draft day.
