NFL Draft Odds: Kellen Mond Draft Stock Falling

Leading up to the 2021 NFL Draft, Texas A&M QB Kellen Mond has been projected to be taken in the second round in several mock drafts. However, the odds indicate that he may actually be taken later than that.
While he's getting second-round buzz, FanDuel Sportsbook has set the over/under for Mond's draft position at 83.5, which would be near the middle of the third round.

Kellen Mond Draft Stock
When it comes to the 2021 NFL Draft, there are different quarterback tiers. Most experts group Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson at the top while putting Mac Jones, Trey Lance and Justin Fields in the next tier. All five of those quarterbacks are projected by most experts to be taken in Round 1.
On the other hand, Mond has generally been put in the second-round quarterback tier with someone like Davis Mills. The Stanford signal-caller has an over/under of 68.5 on FanDuel Sportsbook, putting him somewhere around the end of Round 2 to beginning of Round 3.
The fact that Mills and Mond have typically been put in the same tier only for the former to have a significantly higher over/under may be a bad sign for the Texas A&M QB.
At the end of the day, the draft can be unpredictable. Even if Mond is expected to be drafted later than he'd like, there's the chance that someone could reach for him. There aren't enough Round 1-tier quarterbacks available for each of the teams that need one, so an organization like the New England Patriots or Chicago Bears could wind up taking Mond in the second round.
Either way, Mond's draft stock is something to keep an eye on.
