Odds for the 2019-2020 NBA MVP heavily favor the reigning winner, Giannis Antetokounmpo, at +270, to take home the hardware, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Antetokounmpo edged out James Harden for the 2018-19 MVP, in a season where the Greek Freak averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists for the 60-22 Milwaukee Bucks, who finished with the best record in the NBA. Giannis should once again be in serious contention, with the Bucks favored to win the Eastern Conference.

Following Giannis in MVP odds is Stephen Curry at +500. A two-time winner of the award, Curry will be asked to take on a larger role for the Golden State Warriors this season, who are now without Kevin Durant and will also be missing Klay Thompson for the majority of this season as he recovers from a torn ACL. It's possible we could see Curry exceed his career-high average of 30.1 points per game (PPG) set in the 2015-16 season, especially if he can be equally efficient in his increased role.

After Curry, 2017-18 MVP James Harden is +750, coming off a season in which he led the NBA in scoring by a wide margin with 36.1 PPG (Paul George was second with 28.0 PPG). While Harden has a chance to repeat as the league's leading scorer, he also may experience a sizable dip now that usage-monster Russell Westbrook is joining him in the Houston Rockets backcourt.

Rounding out the top five in MVP odds are Los Angeles Lakers teammates LeBron James (+850) and Anthony Davis (+950). Although, both could possibly cancel each other out, barring an injury to one of them.

Nikola Jokic is also an intriguing bet at +1100. If the Los Angeles Clippers falter out of the gate, with Paul George expected to miss games recovering from shoulder surgery, the Denver Nuggets have a chance to finish first in the loaded Western Conference for the 2019-20 season, which would surely help Jokic's MVP chances.

While all the big names are at the top now, one thing we can guarantee about NBA MVP odds is that there will be plenty of shifts throughout the season.
