The San Antonio Spurs are playing exceptionally well lately, winning 12 of their last 16 games. However, they could run into trouble against the Denver Nuggets, who are 4.5-point favorites according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Both the Spurs and the Nuggets are on the second leg of a back-to-back set, and Denver has been remarkably impressive in such contests this season. The Spurs have not.

The Nuggets are 10-1 straight up (SU) and 8-3 against the spread (ATS) when playing on the second leg of a back-to-back set this season. The Nuggets are one of the youngest teams in the NBA, so their success when playing without a day off shouldn't come as a surprise.

Nikola Jokic is undoubtably a huge reason for the Nuggets' success in these contests. Jokic is averaging 21.6 points per game (PPG) and 11.2 rebounds per game (RPG) when playing in the second leg of a back-to-back set.

Denver has also been dominant at home this season, going 31-7 straight up in the Pepsi Center thus far.

On the other hand, the Spurs' veteran roster has been less effective on the second leg of a back to back. San Antonio is 5-8 SU and 7-6 ATS in such contests this season.

However, we should note that DeMar DeRozan's game improves when playing in the second game of a back to back. DeRozan is averaging 21.6 PPG this season, but that number jumps to 25.9 PPG in the second game of a back to back.

Overall, this betting trend seemingly gives Denver the edge tonight, even though DeRozan could go off for a big game.

New customers will get 40/1 on any of the Final Four teams to win the tournament.
