The Washington Nationals are having a down year in 2021, and that forced them to be sellers at the trade deadline. Trading away three stars in Max Scherzer, Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox.

If you're dealing away stars like that, you better hope you have some fantastic prospects in the pipeline ready to contribute at the Major League level soon. It seems Washington has that.

The MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospects list has been updated and two Nationals players made massive leaps. First, right-handed pitcher Cade Cavalli skyrocketed from No. 99 to No. 41.

Additionally, catcher Keibert Ruiz has gone from No. 57 all the way up to a top-20 prospect at No. 19.

In 63 games with the Dodgers and Nationals minor league affiliates in 2021, Ruiz is slashing .293/.359/.578 with 17 home runs and 48 RBIs.

Cavalli has seen similar success, going 6-4 with a 2.50 ERA in 17 starts for AA and A+ Nationals minor league affiliates this season. He has also struck out 147 hitters in just 93 2/3 innings pitched.

If these two guys keep up this type of production, we could see them contributing on the Major League roster in no time.
