Mike Evans Injury Update Could Boost Fantasy Outlook in Week 17

The combination of a hamstring injury and COVID-19/reserve list placement has kept Mike Evans fantasy irrelevant for the past two weeks.
Fortunately, the Buccaneers wideout showed progress with his latest injury update and it's doing wonders for his Week 17 fantasy outlook.

Evans has not been formally activated off the COVID-19 list, but the new NFL protocols allowed him to return in some sort of fashion on Thursday. He was also seen catching passes from practice squad quarterback Ryan Griffin.
Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook
It's still unclear if Evans will be able to suit up on Sunday, but he's in for an enticing matchup against the New York Jets. New York rates last in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA metric and allows the fifth-most opponent passing yards (250.0) per game.
Evans is Tampa Bay's clear-cut No. 1 wideout with Chris Godwin out for the year. He's turned 100 targets into 64 receptions for 899 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2021. The three-time Pro Bowler ranked as WR9 in PPR formats prior to his hamstring injury in Week 15.
Fantasy managers should pay attention to the Buccaneers' injury report ahead of Sunday, and can confidently start Evans if he's cleared by kickoff.
