Miami has odds set at -130 on the moneyline, while Washington State is +106 to earn an outright win.
These two teams are very similar in terms of their journeys over the course of the season. Miami started the season off horribly, but finished the year with two straight wins to get to a 7-5 record. Meanwhile, Washington State rode an impressive conference winning streak in order to end the year 7-5.
It's important to points out that these two teams have already met in the Sun Bowl once before. The Cougars took down the Hurricanes by a score of 20-14 back in 2015, thanks to a game-sealing interception with just over three minutes to go. It remains the only head-to-head matchup in this series.
Miami has lost 11 of its last 13 bowl games and will look to bounce back with freshman quarterback Tyler Van Dyke leading the way. He took over the starting role early on in the season and never looked back. Overall, Van Dyke has thrown 25 touchdowns compared to just 6 interceptions across 10 games.
On the other side, Washington State will aim to shut down this Miami offense after giving up just 6.6 yards per completion this year (No. 24 in college football). Senior linebacker Jahad Woods has paced the defense with 100 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 1 interception.
