It's pretty amazing what the New York Mets pitching staff has been able to do this season. Jacob deGrom could be NL MVP, while the rest of the pitching staff owns the fourth-best team ERA (3.33) in baseball.

New York hasn't enjoyed the full strength of their intimidating rotation with both Noah Syndergaard and Carlos Carrasco sidelined for all of the 2021 campaign. Recently, Mets manager Luis Rojas provided an injury update for Syndergaard.

Noah Syndergaard Injury Update

According to Rojas, the team is aiming for a Sept.1 return for their one-time All-Star. Syndergaard is a top-of-staff caliber pitcher who owns a career 3.31 ERA, including four of five seasons with 150+ strikeouts. Imagining him joining forces with the likes of deGrom, Marcus Stroman (2.45 ERA) and Taijuan Walker (2.38 ERA) is an exciting prospect.

New York remains in first place in the NL East with their 41-36 overall record. The Mets also own the second-best odds (+900) amongst NL teams to take home the 2021 World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook.
