Matt Ryan Shares Honest Assessment of Falcons' Offense

It's safe to say that Week 11's Thursday Night Football game did not go how the Atlanta Falcons wanted it to. The New England Patriots won 25-0 in a rout and wreaked havoc on quarterback Matt Ryan seemingly all night.
The veteran leader recently shared an honest assessment of the offense he has been running.

Ryan explained how a lack of production has played a role in the team's back-to-back blowout losses. The Falcons have been outscored 68-3 over the last two games and failed to surpass 170 total yards of offense on Thursday. To make matters worse, it was Ryan's first time getting shut out at home in his entire 14-year NFL career.
"We haven't thrown the ball well enough, we haven't run the ball well enough, I've got to be more accurate. We all have to be more effective with what we're asked to do in terms of the game plan."

Simply put, nothing has been working for Atlanta as of late. Ryan was pressured on an insane 50% of his dropbacks against the Patriots and struggled to beat the blitz. It didn't help that the Falcons were without both Calvin Ridley and Cordarrelle Patterson.
When it comes down to it, head coach Arthur Smith needs to get his offense in gear if he wants any shot of making the playoffs. Atlanta now ranks No. 27 in the NFL in scoring (17.8 average) and ranks No. 28 in total yards per game (308.3). That's not going to get the job done in today's league.
Keep in mind that the Falcons have finished under .500 in each of the last three seasons. They'll try to bounce back in a Week 12 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 28.
