Just one day after getting placed on the injured reserve, Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson received more bad news on Wednesday. Head coach Matt Eberflus shared more details on Jackson's status, and they were devastating.

Eddie Jackson Injury Update

According to Eberflus, Jackson's foot injury is a lisfranc issue and will be season-ending. It's still unclear if he'll need to undergo surgery to repair the ailment, but he won't be suiting up for the Bears again in 2022.

Lisfranc injuries have been on the rise across all professional sports leagues in recent years, notably the NFL. Baltimore Ravens wideout Rashod Bateman underwent season-ending surgery to repair his own Lisfranc injury just last month.

Jackson is a vital piece to Chicago's defense and will be missed greatly. He's started in all 12 of the team's contests, leading the team with 4 interceptions and 59 solo tackles.
