Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi was a surprise addition to the COVID injured list on Sunday. The news was also disappointing given the starter was set to take part in his first MLB All-Star Game this week. Fortunately, with the protocols in place, Kikuchi could be cleared if he produced a second negative test.

Well, all systems are a go for Kikuchi to take part in All-Star festivities.

Yusei Kikuchi Injury Update

Kikuchi has officially been reinstated from the COVID IL, squashing any concerns about the starter missing the ASG or any contests to start the Mariners' second-half schedule.

The 30-year-old earned his first-ever All-Star nod this season after recording a 6-4 record and 3.48 ERA along with 98 strikeouts over 16 starts.

Kikuchi and the AL All-Stars are +142 underdogs heading into Tuesday's matchup with the NL, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
