Jameis Winston is one of the more intriguing players in the NFL. While his career hasn't exactly gone as hoped after being a Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick, he remains a source of entertainment for his various on and off field antics.

One of memorable moment from his career was his infamous "Eat a W" speech while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And former teammate Lavonte David called him out for it in hilarious fashion.

David knows that Winston meant will the speech. But he said the "weird" factor of it took the team by surprise and didn't exactly help inspire a win.

"My boy Jameis [Winston], he’s a very, very, very energetic, animated guy. That was just something that he thought up off the top of his head. And he came out with it and it was weird, man. It was weird, honestly. He knows it was weird. Everybody wasn’t really thrilled with it for a hype-up speech, but unfortunately, that’s going to follow my guy Jameis for his whole career."

The Bucs lost the game right after his speech to the New Orleans Saints 30-10. It's interesting to hear perspective from one of the players who was present for that speech and see how it actually had an impact (in the wrong way).

Perhaps Winston should leave the hype speeches to someone else and let his play do the talking as he vies for a starting role in New Orleans this year.
