Following a spectacular rookie campaign in 2019 after being selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Kyler Murray has been quick to show us what our expectations of both he and the Arizona Cardinals could be in 2020.
In Sunday's comeback Week 1 win over the defending NFC champion and division rival San Francisco 49ers, Murray tossed for 230 yards, one touchdown and one interception, but he also added 91 yards and a TD on the ground.
While his stats aren't insane, it's clear that the most important takeaway for the oddsmakers was adding that W to the win column for the young, rising star QB in Arizona.
Kyler Murray MVP Odds 2020
Murray's newest +1700 odds in the MVP race make him tied with Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott for the fifth-best odds of any player in the entire league, and even place Murray ahead of notable names such as Deshaun Watson (+1800), Drew Brees (+1800) and Tom Brady (+2300).
It is, of course, a long season, but you have to be excited about what's on your hands in Phoenix if you're a Cardinals fan through Week 1, especially after Murray connected with new weapon DeAndre Hopkins for 14 of his 26 completions in their first game together.
