Kirk Cousins remains one of the most polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL. With the Minnesota Vikings' resurgence being a huge story, Cousins discourse has only grown louder as supporters and deniers debate his true value.
The QB was a talking point of national TV once again on Wednesday, and received his usual criticism. Vikings teammate Justin Jefferson decided he's heard enough, blasting the media for the way it talks about his signal-caller.
Jefferson tweteed, "The Kirk criticism has to stop!!" The star wideout went on to say the "swag dad" has numbers that rival other MVP candidates, so he should be talked about similarly.
There's no denying Cousins has been very productive once again in 2022. He's already passed the 4,000-yard passing mark with two games to go while throwing for 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He's certainly made some mistakes this season, reigniting the "primetime Kirk" shade, but he's also leading a team that's gone 12-3 to this point.
Cousins has been extremely clutch this season as well, leading the league with eight game-winning drives commanded. That should earn him some well-deserved respect, but instead he and the Vikings are still being looked down upon compared to the rest of the contenders around the league.
The best way to shut the haters up is with a long playoff run. On the verge of clinging one of the NFC's top seed, Minnesota will certainly have a great shot to show its potential this postseason.
