JuJu Smith-Schuster Quote Casts Doubt About Future With Steelers

JuJu Smith-Schuster is one of those players that can make the NFL headlines go crazy, even with his simplest of actions or quotes. His latest quotes will likely cause a riot in Steelers nation as the one-time Pro Bowl selection got caught up speaking about his future in Pittsburgh.
The four-year NFL veteran recently signed a one-year contract with Pittsburgh and during the team's minicamp was asked about his future following this season. His quote was confusing, at best, and casts some serious doubt about his long-term future with the franchise.
JuJu: "I think to come back to Pittsburgh for another four years would be tremendous. ... But you never know what's going to happen. That's how I see it."

The first part of the wideout's comments are great and everything that fans want to hear. The possibility of four more years of a star wideout with 26 touchdowns in just four seasons is outstanding. Add in the possibility of remaining a one-two threat with Chase Claypool, who caught 9 touchdowns in just his rookie season. That's something to celebrate.
But, Smith-Schuster went on to continue his quote, later saying "but you never know what's going to happen... that's how I see it."
That's not exactly the confidence boost that Steelers fans were hopeful for. Essentially, the 24-year-old wideout is leaving the door wide open to take his talents elsewhere in 2022.
Only time will tell. But, right now the Steelers own just +440 odds to win the AFC North division, according to the latest NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. Luckily, Smith-Schuster will be playing for a big contract no matter where he ends up next season, and that should mean some elite on-field performances from the wideout.
