The Cincinnati Bengals hold a slim lead in the early part of the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVI. They still have a long few minutes to capture the Lombari Trophy, and a potential injury to quarterback Joe Burrow could seriously hurt their chances.
Joe Burrow Injury
Burrow yelled in pain and grabbed at his right knee after he was sacked on third down in the early going of the fourth quarter.
Joe Burrow Super Bowl 56 Injury
The Los Angeles Rams found their way in the backfield and Von Miller wrapped up Burrow for the sack. During the tackle, Burrow's legs got tangled and his right knee bent awkwardly.
The QB was in obvious pain, as replays showed him clearly grimacing as he went down.
Burrow then limped off of the field, but he didn't need any extra medical attention on the bench. Instead he tried to work through it on his own.
It's a good sign that Burrow wasn't forced to the locker room with the ailment. He appears ready to gut it out and play through whatever is bothering him.
This situation will be worth monitoring as the final whistle approaches. Brandon Allen would be the next man up at QB for the Bengals if Burrow needs to exit.
