The Kansas City Chiefs' win streak was halted at eight games after they were handed a close loss by the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. Still, Kansas City is an impressive 8-2 in its last 10 games after a slow start to the 2021 NFL season.

Now, the Chiefs have a chance to clinch the AFC's No. 1 seed in Week 18 and here's exactly how they can do it.

Chiefs Playoff Scenarios

There are two scenarios that can lead to the Chiefs entering the NFL postseason as the AFC's No. 1 seed. The first is that Kansas City must defeat the Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans must either lose to or tie against the Houston Texans.

The second scenario is fairly simple as well. The Chiefs can clinch No. 1 status in the AFC if they tie the Broncos and the Titans lose to the Texans. Regardless, it's clear that Kansas City will need some help from Houston in either scenario.

The good news for Chiefs fans is that a Texans upset isn't unfathomable. After all, Houston shocked Tennessee with a 22-13 victory back in Week 11. Meanwhile, Kansas City also defeated Denver, 22-9, in Week 13.

Oddsmakers are expecting big things from Kansas City this offseason. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, a Chiefs vs Green Bay Packers showdown is the most likely Super Bowl 56 matchup at +750 odds.
