The Houston Texans have been a pretty successful franchise since their inception in 2002. Though their track record is not exactly extensive, Houston has had many talented players throughout the years.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the three best running backs in Texans franchise history.
3. Lamar Miller (2016-2018)
You could make a pretty solid case for Steve Slayton, who had one of the best single-season performances in franchise history, but Lamar Miller gets the nod here thanks to his body of work. In just three seasons with the team, Miller climbed to third on the team's all-time rushing list with 2,934 yards and fourth in touchdowns with 13. Were it not for that 2019 knee injury, he'd likely be much higher in both categories.
2. Domanick Williams (2003-2005)
Domanick Williams is not exactly a name that most NFL fans remember, but he put together a fantastic three-season stretch for the Texans. He racked up 3,195 yards and 23 scores during that span, ranking second in Texans' franchise history in both categories. His 79.9 rushing yards per game is also the second-best mark in team history. Unfortunately, a knee injury also derailed his career and he only played three seasons in the league.
1. Arian Foster (2009-2015)
This one isn't up for debate. Arian Foster is the greatest running back in franchise history, and it's not particularly close. He ranks first in carries, yards, touchdowns and yards per game among all Texans RBs. He's even fifth in franchise history with 2,268 receiving yards. Four of the franchise's five best single-season rushing performances belong to Foster, and he was a four-time Pro Bowler and was named a 2010 first-team All-Pro.
