The Baseball Hall of Fame released its official 2023 ballot on Monday. Members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) will have until Dec. 23 to finalize and submit their ballots before an official announcement is made on Tuesday, Jan. 24 in 2023.
One former Atlanta Braves outfielder is on the ballot for the sixth consecutive year.
That player is none other than outfielder Andruw Jones. Jones spent the first 12 years of his illustrious MLB career in Atlanta. Considered one of the best fielding center fielders in recent memory, Jones racked up 10 Gold Glove awards in his career.
This decorated career also included five All-Star appearances, 434 home runs and nearly 1,300 RBIs.
A player is not enshrined into Cooperstown until he earns at least 75% of the votes on a particular ballot. Players who receiver between 5% and 75% of the votes can hang on the ballot for 10 years.
