Dolphins' Insider Creates Optimism for Myles Gaskin Fantasy Outlook Despite Recent Brian Flores Comments

Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores gave fantasy football managers a reason to worry when he said all three running backs on the team will see work this season. It sounded like a running back by committee approach will be used, but one insider created some optimism for starter Myles Gaskin.

Myles Gaskin Fantasy Value
Dolphins Insider Cameron Wolfe talked about this topic in a recent video and explained how Gaskin is still the player to own in the Dolphins backfield. Most importantly, he touched on the fact that the 24-year-old's talent should shine in comparison to veteran Malcom Brown and second-year player Salvon Ahmed.
Gaskin came out of nowhere last season racking up 972 yards from scrimmage to go along with 5 touchdowns on a total of 183 touches. He played in 10 games for Miami and saw double-digit carries in all but one of his seven starts. Overall, Gaskin finished ninth in the NFL averaging 18.3 touches per game.
Although Flores did not commit to Gaskin as a workhorse for the upcoming season, it would be shocking to see him lose a ton of work. The 2019 seventh-round pick played in over 60% of the offensive snaps in each game he played last year and ended up averaging 4.1 yards per carry.
Brown is likely to see some goal-line work given his ability to pound the ball up the middle and Ahmed may be sprinkled in every now and then as a change-of-pace back. However, fantasy managers do not need to worry as Gaskin is in the perfect situation to finish as a top-24 running back this upcoming season.
Myles Gaskin ADP
The Dolphins' starter works with an average draft position (ADP) of 48.7 and RB21 in PPR leagues, according to FantasyPros. Gaskin can be safely targeted at that price given he averaged 16.4 points per game in PPR leagues last season and should be in for another solid year.
Gaskin checks in at RB19 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
