The Dodgers are +290 to win their seventh World Series title in franchise history. With the best record in baseball through July 21 (67-35), the Dodgers have NL MVP and Cy Young candidates in Cody Bellinger and Hyun-Jin Ryu, respectively, while also getting excellent contributions from Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler and Max Muncy. Like a handful of contending teams, they are most likely to seek bullpen help ahead of the July 31 MLB Trade Deadline.
Not far behind in terms of record or odds are the New York Yankees (64-34), who are +350 to win their 28th championship. The Yanks have been arguably the best all-around team in baseball, despite suffering injuries to their lineup and rotation all season, and have managed to dominate thanks to breakout years from starter Domingo German and infielder DJ LeMahieu, to name a few.
The Houston Astros (+420) have the next best odds, followed by two other division leaders in the Atlanta Braves (+850) and Minnesota Twins (+900). The Braves have been especially hot as of late, going 30-14 since the start of June. They are led by a pair of players having MVP-caliber seasons in first baseman Freddie Freeman and second-year outfield sensation Ronald Acuña Jr.
The Tampa Bay Rays (+3800) have seen their odds drop in recent weeks. After leading the AL East during the first month of the season, they have been a .500 ball club since the beginning of May.
The Washington Nationals, on the other hand, have seen their odds drastically improve since the beginning of the season, as they are now +2800 to win the World Series. The Nats, once considered midseason sellers in their first post-Bryce Harper season, have one of the best records in baseball since the start of June (28-13).
