D.J. Moore Fantasy Outlook Includes Top-5 Upside in 2020

D.J. Moore broke out in a big way last season. The third-year wideout tallied 1,175 receiving yards on 87 catches, though he only scored 4 touchdowns in 14 games played. He did all of that while catching passes from Kyle Allen and Will Grier – arguably the league's worst quarterback situation in 2019.
With an innovative, offensive-minded head coach in Matt Rhule and the switch to Teddy Bridgewater, Moore looks primed to top what he did in 2019.

D.J. Moore Fantasy Football Outlook
The Maryland product currently carries an average draft position (ADP) of WR9, per FantasyPros. That may be a bit high considering he was the WR16 last year, but that was more due to injuries than anything else. Removing the Week 16 game he left after 6 snaps, Moore was the WR8 on a per-game basis in PPR formats.
It also looked like Moore made the leap into full-fledged stardom in the second half.
From Week 1-8, Moore averaged 8.3 targets, 5.4 receptions and 66.1 yards per game. He was the WR27 during that span. But from Week 9-15 (before his injury), those averages spiked to 10.7 targets, 6.9 receptions and 101.6 yards per game – he was the WR2 during that span, trailing only Michael Thomas.
He also suffered from some bad touchdown luck. The 20 pass-catchers that recorded at least 1,100 yards in 2019 averaged 6.7 touchdowns on the year, and Moore's 4 scores were the second-fewest among all wideouts that reached that yardage mark.
And the upgrade from Allen to Bridgewater cannot be understated. A stellar 81.3 percent of Bridgewater's throws were deemed on target last year, which would've been the third-best mark in the league had he qualified. Allen was No. 12 at 76.2 percent, but he posted bottom-five marks in passer rating (80.0), adjusted yards per attempt (6.0) and touchdown percentage (3.5).
Moore is a burgeoning superstar and absolutely has top-five WR potential.
