The Week 13 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins was set to feature plenty of fireworks considering the amount of familiar faces squaring off. This reunion ultimately went in the 49ers' favor, as San Francisco earned the 33-17 win despite losing starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in the first quarter.
Star wide receiver Deebo Samuel made sure to let ex-teammate and current Dolphin Raheem Mostert hear about it after getting the victory.
Samuel and Mostert exchanged words prior to their matchup on Sunday after the latter said Miami had more talent than San Francisco earlier in the week. Samuel used Mostert's claim against him in postgame comments, saying, "I thought they had the best talent. Oh... my bad.”
It's obvious the wideout is throwing massive shade at his former teammate for his bold statements ahead of this clash. Considering how the game unfolded, Samuel and the 49ers certainly showed whose talent reigns supreme.
Mostert was awfully quiet in Week 13, recording just 30 yards on seven carries. Miami's offense struggled to get anything going against San Francisco, posting just 17 points and committing four turnovers overall, including a fumble that Dre Greenlaw returned for a score.
The 49ers' offense looked solid with Brock Purdy under center, and the rookie leading his team to a win should give him plenty as he prepares for the likely first start of his career in Week 14.
