It is no secret that the Dallas Cowboys struggled throughout the 2020 NFL season on their way to finishing with a 6-10 record. However, they have all the makings of a bounce-back team and are being disrespected in the latest ProFootballFocus NFL power rankings.

The Cowboys come in ranked at the No. 18 spot. While they are the highest-ranked NFC East team, that is still way too low for a Dallas squad that has so much talent on the roster. It is surprising to see them below other underwhelming 2020 teams like the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals.

Cowboys Disrespected in PFF Power Rankings

When it comes down to it, any kind of Cowboys' success in 2021 will likely stem from the return of starting quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott was an early MVP candidate in 2020 before injuring his ankle in Week 5. He was averaging 422.5 passing yards and over 2 passing touchdowns per game through the first four weeks of the season.

Yes, the Cowboys will need to see major improvement on the defensive side of the ball if the team wants to make some noise next fall. However, there is reason to believe that exact thing will happen. Dallas did average 1.4 takeaways per game last season (T-No. 7 in NFL) and added one of the best defensive players in the draft this year in linebacker Micah Parsons.

While Dallas likely is not a Super Bowl contender, they have a great chance to make the playoffs and everyone knows that anything can happen in the playoffs. Dallas has odds set at +110 to win the NFC East, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
