Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale has had a disastrous last three years, making a mere 11 starts in that time. Now, he's once again working his way back from injury, this time to his wrist in his non-throwing arm.

Chris Sale Injury Update

This week, Sale was able to face hitters for the first time since last July. It's a big step forward in his recovery and should be making his Spring Training debut sometime in early March.

Chris Sale's injuries started not long after he signed a huge extension, a contract that has looked worse and worse by the day for the Red Sox, who have struggled without their best pitcher while he's been out, finishing dead last in the AL East last year.

It's clear, even when healthy, Sale's best days are behind him, but that doesn't mean he can't be an effective part of the Sox rotation at some point.

The goal first and foremost is to get healthy and stay that way, but that has proven to be a tough task for Sale, we'll see if that changes in 2023.
