The Kansas City Chiefs head into the NFL Playoffs with a coveted No. 1 seed for the AFC bracket. This marks the franchise's eighth straight postseason appearance as they attempt to get back to the Super Bowl for the third time in four years.

Unlike 12 of the other playoff teams, Kansas City benefited from a first-round bye. And the franchise is taking that opportunity to work out an exciting kick returner and wide receiver option.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs are working out former Alabama Crimson Tide player Slade Bolden. Bolden went undrafted in 2021 but has spent time with the Baltimore Ravens during training camp. Unfortunately, Bolden underwent a sports hernia surgery in September, which forced the Ravens to let go of him in October.

Now fully healthy, Bolden will try to grab a spot on Kansas City's practice squad to add some needed depth at the position.

Bolden handled a majority of return duties for the Crimson Tide in 2021. He returned a total of 27 punts and kicks during his three collegiate seasons, averaging 13.4 yards on kick returns and 6.7 yards on punts. Though he never tallied a TD in college, Bolden has elusive speed and agility to make tacklers miss in the open field.

He also caught 68 balls for 712 yards and 4 total touchdowns as a receiver.

For now, the Chiefs await their next opponent in the NFL Playoffs. Kansas City will play the lowest remaining seed in the Divisional Round and head into the postseason with leading +330 odds to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
