The Kansas City Chiefs roster has gone though some big changes this offseason, most notably the departure of star wide receiver Tyreek Hill following a trade to the Miami Dolphins. However, star tight end Travis Kelce still remains and the Chiefs announced on Wednesday that they are adjusting his contract.
Travis Kelce Contract
Kelce will get a pay raise in 2022 as Kansas City decided to move money from the back side of his contract up to this season, to more accurately compensate him this season.
Kelce has been the best tight end in the league for much of his career, all of which has been spent in Kansas City. He has recorded at least 1,000 receiving yards in six consecutive seasons and hauled in at least 90 receptions in four of those six.
Making sure Kelce is happy and content in Kansas City is crucial for this team and offense. This seems to be a move that works out for both sides and keeps the focus on football heading into training camp and the season.
The Chiefs are currently +950 to win the Super Bowl this season, giving them the third-best odds in the NFL, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
