Cardinals News: Power Rankings Jump
The Cardinals are by far the highest-ranked NL Central team in ESPN's MLB power rankings. The next closest divisional rival happens to be the Milwaukee Brewers at No. 10. Funny enough, the Cardinals and Brewers have a three-game series in Milwaukee next week, which could shake up the rankings again.
A big part of the Cardinals' success has been their offense. The team is scoring an average of 4.65 runs per game (11th) while only allowing 4.06 (12th). The fact that the Cardinals are nearly in the top-10 of each category has to be encouraging for fans to see. Third baseman Nolan Arenado has proven to be worth every penny that St. Louis is paying him, as he's already reached 5 home runs and 22 RBIs through the first month or so of the season.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Cardinals have +3500 odds to win the World Series. They're far from favorites, but that could change if they keep playing impressive baseball while riding up ESPN's MLB power rankings.
