The Arizona Cardinals picked up their eighth win of the season in Week 9, but the victory came at a cost. Running back Chase Edmonds managed just one carry for 3 yards before exiting with an injury.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport revealed a disappointing injury update for Edmonds and the Cardinals on Monday morning. It's believed Edmonds suffered a high-ankle sprain and the fourth-year back will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm.

This latest report suggests that a high-ankle sprain is the worst-case scenario for this injury update, however, that would result in a short-term IR stint and the possibility of Edmonds missing 4-6 weeks.

Edmonds has been terrific splitting duties with James Conner in the Cardinals backfield. He's rushed 76 times for 430 yards (5.7 per attempt) and 1 TD. He's also the preferred pass-catching back and has hauled in 30 receptions on 37 targets for 211 receiving yards.

Arizona will look to continue their momentum in Week 10 when they square off against the Carolina Panthers, a game the Cardinals are favored by 10 points on FanDuel Sportsbook.
