Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson went down with a knee injury last Friday, and it turned out to be a relatively serious one. On Tuesday morning, Johnson underwent surgery to remove a part of his meniscus.
Reports reveal the potential length of Johnson's absence.
According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst, Johnson's procedure "should allow him to return in 1-2 months."
That's a tough break for the 7-3 Suns. Johnson, a starter, was averaging 25.3 minutes per game and was on pace for a career-high 13.0 points, 1.1 steals, and 1.8 assists per game. This return puts Johnson back int he lineup about 1.5 months before the All-Star break.
For now, the Suns hold +750 odds to win the NBA Finals on FanDuel Sportsbook.
