After a sluggish start to the season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are beginning to click, and it's bad news for the rest of the NFC. While the offense is unsurprisingly getting it done, with Tom Brady leading the way, it's the defense that has been most impressive of all.

In fact, the Tampa defense ranks in the top-10 all-time in this crucial defensive stat.

Through seven games, the Buccaneers rank 10th all-time in defense-adjusted value over average (DVOA). This stat is widely considered to be an accurate measurement of how good a defensive unit truly is, as it breaks down every play and compares it to the rest of the NFL.

This historic ranking comes after the Buccaneers beat the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7, limiting the Raiders rushing attack to a 3.2-yard average. The run defense for Tampa really sets the tone, as they allow the fewest rushing yards per attempt in the league, at only 3.0.

Tampa also ranks top-10 in points allowed per game, at 20.3 (No. 8 in NFL). With the offense beginning to click and the defense only looking better and better, the Buccaneers are going to be a tough out this season.

Oh, and they get to throw Antonio Brown into the offense, starting in Week 9.
