Bruce Arians Admits Mistake After Rob Gronkowski Re-Injury

Rob Gronkowski's long-awaited return for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't go as planned. Gronk was active after testing himself in pregame warmups, but he was ruled out just six snaps into Sunday's contest with back spasms.
Head coach Bruce Arians admitted his mistake in letting the vet suit up too early.
Bucs’ HC Bruce Arians said Rob that Gronkowski, like cornerback Richard Sherman, "probably shouldn't have played" Sunday, when he lasted only five plays due to back spasms but added that he's hopeful the players can get healthy in their bye week.https://t.co/DOXH5fsSee

Arians said that Gronkowski "kept begging to get in there," which led to his activation, but he clearly wasn't 100% ready. The good news is that he'll have plenty of time to recover with a bye week in Week 9 for the Bucs.
Tampa Bay certainly felt Gronkowski's absence against a New Orleans Saints defense that caused them problems all game. The Buccaneers committed three turnovers on Sunday and racked up 99 penalty yards that led to their eventual loss.
This 6-2 squad will look to shake off a defeat and get healthy during the bye before turning their attention toward the Washington Football Team in Week 10.
