Browns Waive Veteran Quarterback to Make Room for Deshaun Watson

The Cleveland Browns are welcoming quarterback Deshaun Watson back from suspension ahead of Week 13, but his return meant the team had to clear a roster spot for him.
The Browns did this on Monday by cutting quarterback Joshua Dobbs. The former Tennessee star didn't see any game action for Cleveland this year as the Browns' third-string QB.

Carrying four quarterbacks wouldn't have made much sense for the Browns, so there was no longer room for Dobbs on the roster. With Jacoby Brissett as the backup and Kellen Mond as the third-stringer, the time had come for Dobbs to move on.
Watson returns to a 4-7 team that is clinging to life in the playoff hunt. He'll try to turn things around by beating his old team in Week 13, as Cleveland is favored by seven points on the road against the Houston Texans on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
