The Denver Broncos made perhaps the biggest splash of the offseason with their acquisition of superstar quarterback Russell Wilson. Now the team aims to complement its talented roster with a few key pieces. After all, a Super Bowl is the ultimate goal for George Paton and the front office.
With a stout defense in hand and talented playmakers like Courtland Sutton and Javonte Williams, the offensive line may be Denver's biggest priority. Reports indicate the front office will take on an interesting free-agent visit in Wilson's former Seattle Seahawks teammate: offensive lineman Brandon Shell.
Broncos Brandon Shell
Shell operated as Seattle's starting right tackle for the past two seasons.
While Seattle's offensive line graded out as one of the worst units in football a year ago, Shell was one bright spot. He started in all 21 of his games played and received an above-average 67.0 grade from PFF.
Consistency is the aim here. The Broncos offensive line suffered massive instability last year, most notably at right tackle. The issues at right tackle date back years now as Denver has had nine different players record a start at the position dating back to 2018.
With Bobby Massie hitting free agency, it makes sense for Denver to explore some options. At the very least, a potential Shell signing provides some depth and stability for the new quarterback in town.
Right now, the Broncos hold +1500 odds (T-7th) to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
