Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay suffered a concussion in the team's Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. It initially looked like that would keep Lindsay on the sidelines for Week 8.

However, the Broncos got a really encouraging sign on that front on Thursday. Lindsay was able to return to the team practice, which puts him on track to suit up against the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend.

There's still nothing concrete about Lindsay's status for Week 8, but having him back would give Denver a huge boost.

He's been much more effective than Melvin Gordon since returning from a multi-week absence. Over his last two games (he essentially played just one half in Week 7), Lindsay has turned 16.0 carries into 90.0 rushing yards per game, averaging 5.6 yards per tote. Gordon, on the other hand, is turning 16.4 carries into 69.8 rushing yards per game on the year.

Through five appearances, Gordon has recorded 3 fumbles – something Lindsay hasn't even done once since entering the NFL in 2018. Getting Lindsay back would be a welcome development for the Broncos, clearly.

Denver is currently a 3-point home underdog against Los Angeles in Week 8, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
