The Milwaukee Brewers are rolling right now as they sit atop the NL Central standings with a 56-39 overall record. Milwaukee has increased their division lead to 7.5 games and just swept the Cincinnati Reds.

Now, the Brewers are getting a bit of good news on the injury front in the form of two-time All-Star outfielder Lorenzo Cain. Cain played nine innings for the first time during his current rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville.

Lorenzo Cain Injury Update

The 12-year veteran outfielder has been sidelined since the beginning of June with a hamstring issue. It'll be interesting to see how Milwaukee handles his return with a full strength outfield finally. Christian Yellich is back and rolling after missing a few weeks in May.

Cain slots back into the starting center field role, given the struggles of replacement Jackie Bradley Jr. at the plate. For Milwaukee, it's a win-win situation once Cain returns from the injured list. He's a plus-defender like Bradley Jr., but much more serviceable at the plate. Cain slashes .287/.347/.412 throughout his career.

Right now, the Brewers own favorable odds to win the World Series. Their +1300 odds rank seventh in the MLB according to odds from FanDuel Sportsbook.
