Braves Get Concerning Ronald Acuna Injury Update
By Larry Rupp

Atlanta Braves fans saw standout outfielder Ronald Acuna go down with a brutal season-ending knee injury last July. The 24-year-old's triumphant return to the team in 2022 has been met with thunderous applause, but a recent left groin issue cannot be overlooked as a cause for concern.

Ronald Acuna Injury Update
Acuna was out of the Braves lineup on Wednesday and will need at least two days of treatment for an injury he reportedly tweaked on Tuesday night. Manager Brian Snitker remains hopeful that is isn't a lingering issue, though, and that Acuna can avoid a stint on the injured list. His status is day-to-day.
The two-time All-Star has wasted no time picking up right where he left off in 2021, slashing .282/.391/.487 in 10 games played. Acuna has also logged 4 runs scored, 2 home runs, 5 RBI, and 5 stolen bases. The energy he brings to the clubhouse every day plays a huge role in team morale.
This is a storyline to keep an eye on over the next few days. The longer Acuna is sidelined, the more likely an IL stint becomes. Look for rookie Travis Demeritte and seventh-year pro Guillermo Heredia to see more playing time in the outfield as Acuna recovers.
The Braves need Acuna to stay healthy as they currently rank 16th in runs per game (4.09) and sit 6.0 games out of first place in the National League East division. Atlanta has odds set at +1500 to repeat as World Series champions, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
