Milwaukee Brewers fans have tried their best to remain patient as starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff works his way back from a high-ankle injury. The good news is that his rehab stint in the minors has gone phenomenally, leading to an amazing injury update from the veteran hurler himself.

After his Thursday night start with High-A Wisconsin, Woodruff told reporters that he's "fully ready to go" when it comes to his MLB return. He added that he's unsure where he fits into the Brewers' current rotational plans, but hopes to take the mound in his club's next series.

Brandon Woodruff Injury Update

It's hard to argue against Woodruff after checking out his stats from his latest rehab start. He ended up going five innings against the Quad Cities River Bandits, giving up two hits and an earned run while striking out seven batters on 74 pitches.

After finishing fifth in National League Cy Young voting in 2021, the beginning of Woodruff's 2022 campaign was bumpy, to say the least. Though he went 5-3 in his first nine starts, his 4.74 ERA is the second-worst of his career, as is his 1.237 WHIP.

Nevertheless, the Brewers have gone 11-15 since Woodruff's last start, desperately needing the 29-year-old to return to form. His rehab stint showed that he's heading in a positive direction, but it still unclear when fans can expect him back in Milwaukee.

Brewers World Series Odds

A healthy Woodruff returning to his Cy Young form would be a massive get for the Brewers. Milwaukee currently has +1800 odds to win the 2022 World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook, ranking eighth-best across the Majors.
