Buffalo Bills fans are riding high after watching their squad make it to the AFC Championship game last season, but they are still left wanting more. It looks like the optimism heading into the fall will stay bright for Josh Allen and company as the Bills slide in at No. 3 in ESPN's latest NFL power rankings.
Bills Power Rankings
The Bills only trail two other NFL powerhouses in the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They also come in ranked a whopping 13 spots higher than the next closest team in the AFC East (Miami Dolphins).
On the offensive side of the ball, the Bills are led by quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Those two combined for 1,535 yards through the air and 8 touchdowns during the 2020 season. Overall, Buffalo ranked No. 3 in the NFL averaging 29.9 points per game.
The success of this team will likely come down to how well the defense performs. The Bills ranked right in the middle of the league (No. 17) giving up 362.7 yards per game last season, but did tie for the third-most takeaways (26). Extending linebacker Matt Milano this past offseason ensured the team has a dangerous playmaker up the middle.
Buffalo seems poised to make another deep playoff run this season and the ceiling remains sky high for this group of playmakers. The Bills currently have the best odds to win the AFC East at -150 and are tied for the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1200, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
